Thanks. However, I'm more than happy with my heating system itself. It has three timed zones (upstairs and dowstairs separate plus hot water) and all radiators on thermostats. The runs are all in an appropriate mix of 15mm and 22mm copper and it all works very well. However, after 19 years, the boiler is knackered. Hence, I just need something to replace it.
Looking around at various boards, I had gained the impression that switching to a condensing boiler would not be appropriate with thermostats on the rad's, so I expected that it would be best replacing the boiler on a like-for-like basis to the extent that such is possible. However, there are so many to choose from and I don't want to get ripped off by some "apparently" knowledgeable heating engineer, so I wanted to have general idea of what I needed before approaching the trade.
