So ding, a wooden shed with a socket in it.....are YOU and Chubbs happy with TN-C-S?

Can't answer for Chubbs, but there is absolutely nothing amiss with that arrangement.

Earthing and bonding, eh? The thing that sparks understand least !

Maybe I was hasty here... some sparks don't even understand Ohm's law. But I'm absolutely serious when I say that the majority of tradesmen who describe themselves as electricians have a poor understanding of earthing and bonding.

Yes, that seems to be true.

I don't dislike anybody, but one particular, peculiarly vindictive forum member reacts poorly to criticism and quickly resorts to playgound insults. Nothing mature about it.

It's okay though; it provides entertainment on two levels:

1. For the general onlookers
2. For the established forum members when they get to play 'find the one who's gone off in a huff' later on.

under fault conditions a fault in one TNCS customer has the ability to impact on another TNCS customer if the PME between the 2 is not robust enough and the impedance to earth in the lower in the other.

PME can be quite bad then!
I took the above from another forum

PME is covered with conditions on it's use due to the dangers presented from a lost neutral.

The risk of a dangerous shock or fatality from a lost neutral is far less in the equipotential zone than out 'in the field'.

Remember, a lost service neutral on a PME results in exposed conductive and extraneous parts becoming live to a potential upto that of the supply.

Am I using the correct terminoligy for the 17th......... Grin

A fridge in a wooden shed would certainly present a dangerous risk if it became live, but certainly not as much as if you where stood on mother earth.

wouldnt  the extraneous and exposed conductive parts be classed as dangerous as well as in the euipotential zone with a lost neutral, cuz ur still the path to earth if you were to touch em?
