Noisey Kitchen Tap
Jun 19th, 2009, 11:31am

Hi,

This maybe a stupid question but it is annoying me for some time now.

When I turn on my cold mains fed tap, the flowing water is extremely loud. It resonates all over the house, if the kitchen tap is on you can hear it in every room in the house.

Is this normal?

One thing I noticed a few days ago is that the water pipe is not bracketed to the wall very well, a large section of the pipe is very loose. Could that be the cause?

Appreciate any advice,
Marcus

Hi Marcos, don't know how I missed your post.

The pipes not being clipped won't help, but it may be the tap wan't a good clean.

Dependant on the exact type of noise, could also be a check valve.
