I've just had some block paving done, and all looks really good. As part of it I've had the steps to my front door replaced. The steps aren't high, 3 brick courses with a slab top. The steps are motared to the house and bridge the DPC. Is this Ok? The builder says it's standard and rising damp won't be an issue. He seems honest but I can't help been a little worried.

Not ideal but unlikely to create a problem.  In a perfect world the wall should have been 'blackjacked' where the steps touch the house above dpc.  This would prevent the slight possibility of rising damp bridging the dpc through the steps.
