Cheap loft insulation at Homebase..

Elsewhere someone pointed out that Homebase have an offer on Knauf Carbon zero Earthwool made with rockwool and recycled bottles. Around £5 a roll. Only 170mm thick so put in two layers. Not sure how long the offer price lasts.

Thermal conductivity (eg U-Value for a 1 meter thickness) is given as around 0.044 W/mK.

Reply #1 - Jul 17^th, 2009, 9:59pm I got some on offer at BnQ a few months back, like you say its the energy companies having to show some green credentials. Very cheap and I so gave my loft an extra layer. When are they going to do an offer on Kingspan? My workshop needs more insulation before the summer turns even colder

Reply #3 - Jul 17^th, 2009, 11:13pm Z it would cost about £500 to insulate the ceiling with 1" of foam, quick but expensive, unless I have the price wrong for 500 ft²
