Water based wood preservers
Feb 14th, 2011, 3:50pm

I'm finding it harder to get solvent based colored wood preservers. Sure I can get creosote substitute in dark or light but if you want something more refined most of it is all water based. Some makes have stopped calling it wood preserver and have switched to calling it wood treatment. Perhaps it no longer preserves the wood?  Wink

So has anyone got recommendations for coloured wood preserver for sawn and planed wood eg sheds and fences?

Ideally something that doesn't cover the surface with pigment but soaks in like a dye.
