Painting papered walls
Aug 8th, 2011, 1:48pm

I am redecorating the bathroom.  It was wallpapered previously but I'm going to paint it this time.  I have removed the wallpaper and, because the walls are quite uneven, I intend to hang lining paper and then paint over that.

My question is: once I have hung it, should I size the paper before painting?

Size the wall /s the night before (and mix your paste the night before) will greatly aid hanging the paper, work to the sequence of cut one, paste one, hang one. This will give you the 10 or so minutes each piece needs to soak before hanging.

and then when painting, use a good quality bathroom paint or a good vinyl silk or eggshell to help combat condensation...

and as for your question, then no!!!  but allow the paper plenty of drying time! as when the paint soaks in, it can re-activate the paste if not fully dry.
