Service Status - Website problems
May 15th, 2012, 12:51pm

Our server hosts, Fasthosting, are experiencing some problems with DNS at the moment, and some users may find our site is inaccessible.

I myself found I could no longer access the site from certain PC's.

At the moment, Googles DNS servers still recognise askthetrades.co.uk, and this is how I have been accessing the site until our hosts locate their problem.  This problem affects several of their hosted sites and so is a priority issue.

If you would like to try a different DNS server, you can double click your network icon in the system tray, click properties, double click TCP/IP and then change the default DNS servers to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.  These servers currently still route correctly to askthetrades.co.uk

We have identified an issue with the external resolution of streamlinedns.co.uk which may be affecting some customer websites and email access. We are working on a fix as our highest priority. We sincerely apologise to affected customers.

10:58 - This issue has now been resolved. However due to DNS propagation, some customers may still be impacted locally for a period of up to 24 hours. We again apologise for any inconvenience caused.
