wiring through a straw wall.
Sep 21st, 2015, 9:17pm

Hi guys, I wish to take a spur from a wall socket on a circuit into another room but the dividing wall is made of straw? (Built in the 1980's) was just going to put a surface mounted box on this wall and connect the wiring through from the other side through round 20mm conduit. Huh there are several of these walls in the property, but there are no electrical components on any of them I can use as guidelines so looking to find out what the regs are? what is safe what is not etc. or is it just a no no. Smiley

Around here people just ram oval tube down them and wire through that.
