The underground cable from my outbuilding comes out of the ground and runs for about 2 feet up the outside wall of the house before going inside to the CU. It's clipped neatly to the wall and the entry hole has a rain cover. It's not in an area that makes it venerable to impact damage nor is it in direct sunlight.
Should the actual cable be further protected? eg by a galvanised channel or fine as it is ?

Google cattle guard or cable guard. It's not a requirement, but good practice if prone to damage.

I'd leave it as it is.
