Tumble Dryer in Garage
Apr 15th, 2016, 6:15pm

We have a new condensing tumble dryer (rated at 2.7kw, 13A) that could go in the garage.

There is already a circuit in place made up of 13 metres of partly buried armoured 1.5mm twin and earth that has a dedicated 16A RCB in the house consumer unit and terminates at a twin RCD 16A garage unit. The garage unit has 30cm of 1.5mm twin and earth to a wall socket on one feed and a single outside PIR light (120w) on the other.

The dryer would be plugged directly into the socket and not used with any other appliance. Is the wiring up to the job?  Thanks

Buried Twin and Earth? Or Armoured? Can't be both.

1.5mm? Are you sure it's not 2.5?
