We recently had an underfloor leak from central heating pipe, fault found, floor potion dug up and pipe repaired. The pipes were covered in a very coarse sand with loads of "shiny flex of material" added, then a 50mm layer of concrete and then 20mm of asphalt, for the damp-proof, I assume. My question is what should I use to repair, would just a plain coarse sand mix over pipes, then a sand and cement mix with a waterproof adaptive in on top, as the damp-proof be ok?
I have never seen the material they used to cover the pipes before, it was almost a grit type, any ideas what it was?
Hope someone could advise how I should fill this hole. Thanks Trevor
