Mitred Tile Edges

Hi
We have had some tiles completed and were recommended mitered tile edges. We had spent a lot of money on the tiles so were looking to get a really good finish. Whilst it is not clear on the photos taken (you need to zoom in) the width of the mitred edges slowly change sizes and give a slightly unfinished look. Should this be the case and is there a way to rectify this?
Thanks
