If in doubt, dig it out.

15mm into 22mm Pipe Pressure
Feb 17th, 2017, 4:56pm

Hii,

Probably a stupid question but...

The hot water feed from my new combi boiler is 15mm and has 15mm copper pipe attached. If I were to connect up 22mm pipe further along the pipe run and take this up to the bath tap would the flow rate be higher  than if it was 15mm all through?

Thanks

Gammy

No, it wouldn't and in any case the boiler can only produce a limited flow rate of hot water.

At best you'll have a cold bath unless you restrict the flow
