Island unit - hob and oven

If I want to feed an island unit with just a hob and oven and no requirements for 13 amp sockets, is it OK to simply run a 6m2 cable from a breaker on the CU direct to the appliances? I'd rather not have to stick an isolate unit on the side of the island for aesthetic reasons.
My electrician will do the final connections etc but he's away at the moment so can't ask him.
TIA

Sorry, Lec, are you suggesting terminating inside a cupboard in the island unit ? Using a dual cooker outlet plate like this one ?
