Lead used as fascia (Read 4671 times)

Bristolian Newbie Offline Ask The Trades Posts: 1 Total Thanks: 0 For This Post: 0	Lead used as fascia Sep 22^nd, 2017, 10:25am Hi Just want to get some thoughts from other regarding a problem I have. When our building was constructed, lead was used as roof covering and fascia on the bay roof. The top is fine but the fascia has started to drop so that the top windows cannot open. Should lead have been used as fascia? You can view a photo Below.

Looks a very good job.

To be honest it doesn't look as though it's dropped.

Has the deck bowed/sunk a tad ?

I would look at getting it dressed and then trim or roll the bottom edge.

If there are signs of wet getting in obviously it needs to be looked at

Once you get it looked at, give a clean and polish it up with patination oil, it will look amazing.

Lead is the luxury option these days. They could have done it with some horrible roofing felt that would have looked bad and needed replacing some time ago.

I would avoid getting some random roofer to fix this. Try and find someone registered with the Lead Sheet Association or the Lead Contractors Association..
