Any gas safe plumbers out there? Can you help me with some advice, thanks.
Okay, my Worcester combi boiler needs moving. Someone suggested fixing it to the side of the chimney wall with the flue going into the chimney, so the escaping gas would go up the chimney. I have a wood burner that I use. My worry is the gas could be blown back into our house when the burner is not being used. It gets very windy where I live.
Also the outlet for the waste water from the boiler - he suggested channelling that into the soil pipe that comes down from my upstairs bathroom and also feeds off my downstairs washing machine, kitchen sink etc.
I would have thought that the boiler must be fitted to an external wall or at least the flue on an external wall. Shouldn't the waste from the boiler go out by a separate pipe. I'm not a plumber by any means, but this sounds dodgy to me.
Any suggestions? Is this person talking out of his bottom?
Thanks.
