Can you "externalize" and interior door?
Jun 5th, 2019, 11:49pm

Hi all, wondering if anyone can give me some advice. I recently purchased this door in the hope of using it as an entrance door on a tiny house, only to find out that it is actually an interior door. Is it possible to weather proof and "externalize" it? It will be exposed to all kinds of weather and being that it is a unique shape I can't afford to just "see how it goes" and change doors later on due to the framing of it.
Any advice would be appreciated Smiley

Can't say for absolutely certain without seeing it but it looks veneered and therefore wouldn't last long if exposed to the elements. The core construction is probably unsuitable and no amount of painting would get you a durable door. Shame to ruin it, it looks a nice door!
