Old fashioned wiring
Jan 12th, 2020, 12:01am

Hi, I’d like to fit new light in my sons bedroom. We haven’t lived in this house long, I’ve unscrewed existing pendant rose and can see red and black wires plus the earth but it is all copper no plastic casing thingy. Is this safe to wire up to the new fitting ? Please advise thanks

Better with a length of green/yellow sleeve, if you have a odd bit of cable you  can pull it off that and use it

It's quite cheap to buy.  DIY stores will sell tiny lengths for reasonable money.  Wholesalers will sell 100 meters for around the same price  Grin

Some wholesalers may let you have a bit.
