Fuse switch problem
Mar 6th, 2020, 1:57pm

I am in a house share with each room having separate prepaid meters. each room has a box with a separate trip switch for sockets, a separate trip switch for lighting and a main switch.

The trip switch for my sockets has tripped and wont allow me to switch it back on. It wont stay in the on position while the main switch is on. Once the main switch is in the off position the socket trip switch stays on. as soon as i turn the main switch back on the other switch trips

Can anyone help

Have you unplugged everything? then turn the switch on and try each appliance one at a time.

It sounds like there is a faulty appliance plugged in, or the wiring is faulty.  Unplug everything and try.  If it still trips, it's the wiring.
