Repainting an external window frame

Wooden window frame previously painted, time for repainting, do I lightly sand and the use undercoat and then gloss or just gloss.
Current paintwork in ok condition.

With most gloss paints if the current paintwork is in good condition then you  can just give it a good clean and lightly sand.
