Hi. I have nursed our old Baxi 105e combi for 5 years since moving here in 2016. It runs strongly and well enough after starting but that's partly because it is almost a new machine in terms of all the new parts that have gone into it over those five years - both heating and hot water heat exchangers, diverter valve, expansion chamber, prv, re-filling loop, pcb more than once, etc etc. Yep a brand new boiler years ago would have been better! Lesson learned. This Winter however it has a bit of a starting problem with a weird feature i'd welcome ideas about. After powering up on the timer the pump and fan run ok but it doesn't proceed to ignition, unless i remove the big front cover. It then starts with the cover off for a moment, and continues to run well with the cover replaced. It also seems to help if i loosen the two holding screws, one each side which hold the control panel with all the knobs in place. What this does is take the pressure and kinks out of the main wiring running between the PCB and the internal boiler components. Just speculating but could it be as simple as an electrical connection problem, and if so between which parts or areas ? Thanks.
