Title: Re: CU Layout Post by Pro-Spark on Apr 12th, 2004, 11:20pm Did I read that right that you have 3 radials on 2 mcb's Tony |
Title: Re: CU Layout Post by al-yeti on Apr 12th, 2004, 11:58pm not really the radials are on the kitchen at present and everything else will be new as i wont be touching the the kitchen for a while, so there are 6 sockets in total all running from one fuse somewhere via junction box's trouble is i cant put them into a ring so not sure what to do with them???????worse case i will have to chase out the kitchen walls which are a flat roof with no ceiling access. What about the rest? espcially RCD rating to what i gave |
Title: Re: CU Layout Post by plugwash on Apr 13th, 2004, 10:44pm sockets in any form of radial no matter how it spurs can be put on a 20A breaker if the cable is 2.5mm normally you would use something like a 80A current rating 30ma trip rcd generally i would say that all downstairs sockets should be on the rcd expect possibly one specifically for the freezer whether you put the upstiars sockets on a rcd is your choice |
Title: Re: CU Layout Post by scotspark on Apr 15th, 2004, 1:37am as plug said bout kitchen on 20A mcb but i'd put all sockets on rcd personally :-* |
Title: Re: CU Layout Post by L.Spark on Apr 15th, 2004, 11:42pm Not sure how you can run 2.5 radial at 20A, if its installed in thermaly insulated wall in or out of conduit, max is 18.5A :o. |
