Title: Cooker hoods Post by wozzer on Apr 16th, 2005, 12:03pm Couldn't figure out whether this is the right place to ask the question, but Has anyone fitted a chimney type cooker hood to extract through the wall? Is there anything I should know? pitfalls etc, before rushing out and buying one? |

Title: Re: Cooker hoods Post by scotspark on Apr 16th, 2005, 2:01pm WTF is going on ???????????????????? why has this post moved twice as i tried to respond to it???????????? In response to your question they are no different to any other type of cooker hood to install electrically. you can usually hide the connection unit inside the chimney. Physically the only difference is that you aint butting it to the underside of a unit but just bolting to the wall. wouldn't anticipate any problems |

Title: Re: Cooker hoods Post by opentoideas on Apr 19th, 2005, 8:58am could i add to this and ask, are there any regs requirements as to where the air is discharged outside? are there any regs like those for the positioning of a boiler flue or is ventilation just left to common sense? |

Title: Re: Cooker hoods Post by scotspark on Apr 19th, 2005, 4:38pm common sense mate :) as far as i'm aware anyway :-/ it's only air so no reason to worry about it. as long as you don't put it too close to a PIR sensor or the light'll come on when you turn the hood on to take away the smell of your cooking |
