Title: A [Dumb] Question of Waste Post by Ali Butt on Jun 20th, 2005, 4:59pm Please some advice is needed to keep 'er in doors appy. What is the minimum gradient that I need for the waste from the showr tray? I ask because 'er in doors does not want a big step up into the shower cose her legs are short. I had thought that I had a 1:20 until I realised how low the trap outlet from the shower comes even though it is a pretty compact one (Matki Fastflow). Do I have to raise the shower tray - and I fear that the answer willl be yes? :'(? |

Title: Re: A [Dumb] Question of Waste Post by CWatters on Jun 20th, 2005, 7:43pm I think you want Section 1 of Part H. Table 2 seems to suggest that the min is 18mm per meter and max is about 90mm per meter - but doesn't mention showers just wash basins. Showers are only mentioned once in the document and that's in relation to the depth of water in the trap. The max gradient is to prevent the fast flow sucking the water out of U bends/traps Someone told me recently to look at top access traps from McAlpine. |

Title: Re: A [Dumb] Question of Waste Post by Ali Butt on Jun 23rd, 2005, 10:35pm Thanks CW - Re-checked and was worrying for nought. The fall I have is slightly greater than the one quoted as minimum but well below the maximum. On ething I have discovered is that the waste run from the soon to be redundant shower is: A) Greater than 4 metres and B) Goes up and down more than a road in the Yorkshire Dales >:( |
