Title: Cold water tap with poor pressure Post by Craig on Jul 21st, 2005, 10:27am I live in a typical new build ground floor flat, all hot water taps have very good pressure, the two bathroom cold water taps have very good pressure but the kitchen cold water pressure is practically a trickle. Is this likely to be something faulty with the piping/fossetts etc as it only affects one tap? can I do anything about it? many thanks for any suggestions. |

Title: Re: Cold water tap with poor pressure Post by Lurch on Jul 21st, 2005, 10:36am Could be something as simple as an isolation valve under the sink not fully turned on, or even a kinked pipe somewhere? Check for the obvious first. |

Title: Re: Cold water tap with poor pressure Post by JerryD on Jul 21st, 2005, 7:22pm Does the cold water storage tank in the loft fill quickly? (assuming you have one) Try pushing the ball valve of the cold water storage tank below the water level to get an indication of the mains pressure there. If that is ok then you have a problem with just the kitchen tap supply. Have you removed the 'strainer' from the tap outlet, many low pressure problems stem from the strainer being gunked up with limescale and debris. |

Title: Re: Cold water tap with poor pressure Post by thescruff on Jul 22nd, 2005, 7:19pm Craig the first thing to do is remove the filter on the spout, should just unscrew and check it's not blocked. Then check the tails and valves under the sink. |
