I am about to connect a 25mm MDPE water pipe to a Peglar brass stop cock and just need to know if pipe inserts are required please?

Yes, and must be compatable with the make/type of fitting used

Struggling a bit as I hoped to get the new cut outs installed this Autumn together with the new consumer units and meters and THEN, in between holiday makers, switch over a bit of the system from the main house electricity supply at a time over the following winter months.

Obviously I shall need a qualified electrician to hopefully work with, supervise any bit I do, and test it all at the end which may prove a bit difficult, but I think the main problem is that I can't get Western Power to install the supply without a Certificate of completion of works nor will SWEB install the meters without a completion certificate.

To avoid closing the whole place for several weeks this winter, it looks like I shall have to put the whole lot off until September next year when we close for all the other scheduled decorating and alteration works. It should then be quite easy to get a suitable electrician to do the necessary and certificate it for the new connections.

At least I will be able to install the new separate water supplies this winter and replace our own main supply pipe while we are at it!
