Hi
We would like some advice with fitting a thermostatic shower. Is it difficult to fit from a mono bloc? We are new diyers. :-/

If you have a standard vented Hot water cylinder with a storage cistern then the shower should have dedicated supplies. One direct from the HW cyl via an Essex flange, existing secondary connection, Surrey flange or a Warix flange and the other from your CW storage Cistern via a tank connector.

If your system is Unvented or a combi boiler then you can just tee off the existing supplies.

We've just replaced an old boiler & hot water tank arrangement with an oil-fired combi boiler, but the existing shower can't seem to cope. It's either scaldingly hot or completely cold. Confusingly, when it's really hot and you turn the hot tap completely off, it stays scalding for a good few minutes afterwards. Our plumber suggested a thermostatic shower would fix it.
Any ideas?

some shower manufacturers have thermostatic and non-thermostatic mixer showers of the same "model" if you could match your existing shower to a thermostatic one of the same type it woud be a straight swap, in answer to your question its not gonna be that difficult to put in a thermostatic mixer valve, as your supplies are already in the area you want them.
