Title: taps
Post by supersparky on Sep 10th, 2005, 1:55pm

wanted to replace my bathroom tap heads with these

http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/pro.jsp;jsessionid=KIX0MKJ1WTCANCJO2C1CJ0Q?id=18565&ts=56214

they come in half inch and in 3/4

my taps on the basin are 3/4 and on the bath appear to be 1 inch, im measuring the thread that screws into the tap, immeasuring the right part i hope?

are inch threads easy come by cos its gunna look mighty stupid with two different types of tap head  ;D(i havent ordered yet!)

cheers

normal size mate.

1/2" for the basin and 3/4" for the bath.

tails may be shorter than the existing so you may have to extend the pipes

Yep with a bit of luck they will but the success will depend on the seating in the old tap.

Give it a try ain't gona break the bank is it.  ;D

The 1/2" & 3/4" is a measurement of the bore not the outside of the thread so 1/2 BSP looks about 3/4" o.d. and 3/4" BSP is just over an inch.

So you have got 1/2" basin & 3/4" bath taps.
