Title: Best position for MAGNACLEAN Post by nyck on Jan 14th, 2007, 2:47pm I just bought a Magnaclean and need your help for the best position .Is it OK to fit it horizontal rather than vertical as it would be much easier to fit and service.I posted below a link to some photos where i want to fit it and the other options but will be a bit tight and awkward to get at. Also in photo 2 what is the item i have circled in blue ,is it a filter would i remove it when i fit the Magnaclean thanks nyck http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/nyckuk/detail?.dir=bf97scd&.dnm=1f37scd.jpg&.src=ph |

Title: Re: Best position for MAGNACLEAN Post by thescruff on Jan 14th, 2007, 5:54pm No they are best mounted vertically in the return pipe. Drop an elbow of the pipe to the lower connection. Looking at the pic, if you cut the pipe where the red line is, and take it into the magnaclean, the return connections can connect anywhere in the pipe back to the boiler. The item circled is a filter installed the wrong way up :o |

Title: Re: Best position for MAGNACLEAN Post by nyck on Jan 15th, 2007, 8:13am Just had a look at the box it came in and it show you various valve postions that arn't shown in the installation instructions so if you look here at both photos http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/nyckuk/detail?.dir=b162scd&.dnm=8292scd.jpg&.src=ph this is my new plan ,i can just about get the lid off and out if fit like this. Do i remove that other filter or doesnt it matter either way thanks nyck |

Title: Re: Best position for MAGNACLEAN Post by thescruff on Jan 15th, 2007, 6:21pm The other filter is doing nothing anyway so take it out, although that is not completely true, what it will do is collect any crud and block the pipe. You can then lower the return pipe a few inches to give yourself more room. |
