Title: Baxi Combi 105e  fault on hot water sensor
Post by Banjo on Jan 18th, 2007, 11:53am

My baxi 105e - now 5 years old has developed a new fault (last year thanks to the forum I fixed my lack of hot water problem with a DHW diaphram replacement  for a few quid).  Today's problem is a flashing neon  -" Fault on hot water sensor".

It only seems to be a problem with the preheat OFF - I get no hot water and the neon flashes.  With the preheat ON I get hot water and no flashing neon.

Having suffered the damaged diaphram problem last year I can tell that this one is different.  I didn't have any neons flashing before and also the fault was still there with the preheat on.

Any ideas?  Do I simply replace the DHW temperature sensor   - or is it likely to be more serious?

I had the same fault about a year ago and replacing the sensor sorted it out.
What I did to come to this conclusion was to swap over the central heating sensor with the dhw sensor as they are the same this then transferred the fault to the central heating and proved that the dhw sensor was faulty

Many thanks Andyco11 -   got myself a new sensor - followed the fitting instructons in the Baxi manual and .............  bingo !!!
problem solved yet again.

:) :) :) :) :)

(I had been trying to live with the problem since hot water was OK with pre-heat on but then I also started having the green tap light and the fan stay on solid after the tap was turned off.  So I had to bite the bullet. Both problems fixed by one tiny sensor!)
