Title: Noisy Water Meter
Post by Paul on Feb 5th, 2007, 12:20pm

Morning All,

Something I've been meaning to ask for a while. We have a noisy water meter, the mains feed to our bungalow is via our en-suite and you can hear a knocking / clicking sound resonating from the water meter when water is drawn in the house.

Do the water companies change meters if they are noisy and do they charge ? I'm pretty sure it is the meter as you can see the little indicator pointer almost click round at times. Hardly any noise in the meter pit but it seems to resonate and is much louder in the en-suite.

Thanks,

Paul

Don't know if they charge or not you would have to ask the supplier.

They are very delicate though and are easily damaged when you turn the water on, which should be done very slowly, loading the pipe first before you open it fully.
