Title: corgi certification
Post by wookster on Jun 19th, 2007, 10:17am

Hi, i'm after some advice:

2 years ago i had an extension put on the back of the house and moved the boiler, well the builder did and had a plumber in, i'm not sure he was corgi registared as i wasn't aware at the time it had to be done by a corgi installer, the builder took care of the whole build.

I’m now selling the house and as it’s been moved I’ll have to produce a corgi certificate, and I have no contract details for the plumber.

What would I have to do? Get a corgi engineer round to assess the boiler etc and sign it off, it’s been serviced every year since.

What kind of cost would I be looking at?.

Many thanks for any advice with this

You need to do exactly nothing other than show him the service sheets if you still have them.

Don't fall for ther HIP rip-off, you don't need it ``yet.

cool, the problem is the bloke who services it is corgi registered but has done it cash in hand….doh.

it’s the buyers solicitors who have been asking for the corgi certificate for the move of the boiler, still not quite sure to get a the corgi bloke I use round to sign it off?

Many thanks

excuse me jumping in here. but did he issue a service sheet when the bloke serviced the boiler or because it was cash was there no paperwork what so ever.

yes, sorry i didn't explain that bit very well, or corgi registered bloke took cash in hand and we didn't get a service sheet, would the best thing to do now to get it sorted for the sale of the house, be to get the boiler serviced and have the copy of the service sheet, just to insure it is ok.

I think the solicitior might raise the issue that the move of the boiler isn’t documented.

I have tried to get hold of the builder who got his plumber to move the boiler but has packed it in and moved abroad.

Many thanks and I hope it makes sence now!
