We  are in the process of getting a new kitchen .We are thinking of getting wood worktops as they look nice but do they stay nice ie with young kids etc

Are your kids messy cooks then   ::)

Sorry nyck  ;), in truth wood worktops need quite a bit of looking after, it is possible to keep them looking good but they mark if water is left standing on them and do need regular maintenance.

No - avoid at all cost. They need a constant amount of work to stay looking good. Similar questions have been asked on the UK Workshop thread
