Title: Emergency Lighting

Had a nameless, but well renowned, company in to install emergency lighting (as in meeting fire requirements).

One of the lights has been wired to the alarm (as in burglar alarm) circuit.

Surely this is against some reg somewhere as the tests involve removing power from the emergency lights and this is done by tripping the mcb, the alarm is on its own mcb.

If so which reg?

Emergency lighting must be fed from the local used lighting circuit. When the local lighting fails, the local EM lighting comes on.

Exactly Lec. And I am 99% certain that you would know the company to whom I refer Lec - as in they are 'experts' in Fire Equipment and the fire regs and they drove a LONG way to visit the site I work at.

As a matter of interest are you, or any others, aware of any reg that it breaches?
