(Please tell me if there is a more appropriate forum)

I have a problem with a roller shutter garage door (Brand name 'Secureglide'). As a result of the door being jammed by something I had inadvertently lent against it, the 'end stops' (presumably held in the memory of the control unit) are now set so that the door doesn't open above approx. 4ft, and tries to close correspondingly lower (i.e. needs to be stopped manually when it has closed).

Any ideas on how to reset it so that in functions normally ?

Open the motor cover. There is usually two pegs/pins/blocks of differing colours (red/green for example). Depending on manufacturer, you may need to move these guides to a marked point after the motor has stopped, or just move the guide slightly each time until it works as required.

Often there is a tech number on the door or motor, maybe worth asking for advice.

I think my door mechanism might be of a different type; I believe the motor itself is part of the cylinder that the door winds around.

I think on yours you may need to put the door into manual, close it fully, and then re-apply power?

Is there any buttons inside the control box when you remove the lid?

We are just guessing now.....whats the make and model? Maybe a google search is due!

I did try turning the power off & on again with the door in the closed position, but that didn't make any difference. The circuit board in the control box has two small push buttons; I tried pressing each in turn hoping that it was a reset, but to no apparent effect -- without instructions, I don't know whether you need to press the button for longer, press both together or something more complex still. There isn't any specific manufacturer name on/in the control box. I did try googling with the little information I could spot, and didn't come up with anything very detailed.

I'll have another look tomorrow ...

Does the door have a manual winder? if so I would try the following

tell the control box to open the door
turn off power to the control box
manually wind the door to fully open
turn back on power to the control box.

No luck with the power on / off when fully open. Still wants to stop at the same incorrect positions.

I can't spot any manufacturer information on the controller or motor ...

Inside the controller there are (that I can spot) three press button switches, and a number of 'DIP' switches in two blocks. Rather of lot of combinations to try at random.

I guessed PDT was the manufacturer, and googled PDT limit switch or limit setting.

It works (using the limit switches & manually setting the door into up & down positions).

You could push the cables in a bit as well so they catch on the cable-grip.
