Title: M2 SOCKETS
Post by trowelhead on Apr 19th, 2009, 3:18pm

Couple of quickies:- Are m2 and mk the same company?

                         :- Are they any good?

http://www.cef.co.uk/download/pdf/sections/01-wiring_accessories.pdf

I am looking at the 13 amp,2g switched m2 213ss and using the link above can't work out what a box of ten would cost  :-[

:- If you were to use them, what price for a box of ten would you pay?

Cheers guys.

They are very over priced and look to be a budget item.  They are not MK and will not be of the same quality as MK sockets.

I am not sure about the MK M2 connection. I see the list is from CEF, I asked the CEF rep why they could never give me a good price on MK gear and he said something about CEF and MK not getting along. CEF had to buy MK products from other wholesalers, which meant they could not beat anybodies prices, except maybe Homebase  ;D
I don't know if it was a load of bull or even if it is still the case?

My advise would be to steer clear of CEF unless you want to pay a premium (not just on MK gear but most things).

I agree.  We rarely use CEF.  Only if we need something urgently no one else has that day for example.

They are hugely over priced on all their kit and give (us atleast) little or no discount.  They cannot touch the prices our other wholesalers give.

Agree, I hate all this nonsense of 2000% discount because they are so ovepriced in the first place. As for M2.. looks like that cheap make RRP?.. or whatever it is. The switch modules usualy come away leaving you with some nice shiny brass contacts - LIVE ones that is.
