Title: Ideal Isar HE30?? not working Post by wozzy on Jul 8th, 2010, 6:45pm Brilliant >:( Came home just now to a not working combi, not lights will light up or anything, ive checked the fuse in the plug and the glass fuse on the PCB all ok. Ive checked the mains plug is in and getting voltage on the other side of it. Is there anything else to check, before i ask a heating engineer to have a look? |

Title: Re: Ideal Isar HE30?? not working Post by thescruff on Jul 8th, 2010, 7:35pm When you say no power, what if anything do you get on L1, L2, L3, and is the plug right in. Whats the pressure reading. The boiler on switch is on. Have you pressed the reset button, and held it in for a few seconds. |

Title: Re: Ideal Isar HE30?? not working Post by wozzy on Jul 8th, 2010, 7:49pm cheers for the help scruff much appreciated. When i get the progrmmer to call i get 230v between all three lives to earth and 230 between all lives and neutral, this is on the boiler side of the plug so voltage is in there and getting to the control panel. 0.5 bar on the gauge. yes tried holding the reset button in for a bit. Ive left the boiler turned off and turned it back on and tried agin. Getting worried now :-? |

Title: Re: Ideal Isar HE30?? not working Post by thescruff on Jul 8th, 2010, 7:54pm Are you saying you have 240vac on the above 3 terminals. Increase the pressure to 1.2bar. |

Title: Re: Ideal Isar HE30?? not working Post by wozzy on Jul 8th, 2010, 8:14pm yes L1 L2 L3 all have voltage on them. I have limited knowledge of plumbing, how do i increase pressure? the only time i have ever done this before is with a filling loop and i dont think i have one of these. |

Title: Re: Ideal Isar HE30?? not working Post by thescruff on Jul 8th, 2010, 8:32pm You should have a filler loop somewhere. You don't have a header tank in the loft, I hope. |

Title: Re: Ideal Isar HE30?? not working Post by wozzy on Jul 9th, 2010, 7:53pm no tank in loft just couldnt see filling loop. Cheers for all the help scruff. I managed to get hold of a couple heating engineer mates who said PCB straight away. So i went for the BG fixed price repair, after being advised they may have the parts in stock and probably replace PCB and control panel. Unfortunately they didnt have parts in stock but are replacing both monday so i think i got my moneys worth out of them! |

Title: Re: Ideal Isar HE30?? not working Post by thescruff on Jul 10th, 2010, 1:05am Sorry not convinced although the PCB would be a good place to start, you should at least have signs of life on the front panel. |

Title: Re: Ideal Isar HE30?? not working Post by wozzy on Jul 12th, 2010, 8:44pm fixed, although didnt get a new control panel but not moaning as the old one is still functioning and the repair wasnt bad value for money. Ive always believed a PCB would bring up a fault code, but after alot of research on these poor boilers it appears its the transformer that gives up hence no power anywhere or anything. Shame you cant just replace the transformer and not the whole PCB! |
