Title: pedestal traps
Post by billybin on Sep 22nd, 2010, 8:31pm

Hi, I have just spent a fortune on a new sink to find that i need to get a straight 'pedestal trap' the only thing is it needs to be chrome to match the sink, a white plastic one just wont do the job!!!

Can anyone advise one where to get hold of one????
:'(

Never seen one in 50 years.

The normal practice would be a chrome P trap straight back to the wall.

Do you mean this type of pedestal trap for use where the waste goes down through the floor?..

They are normally hidden in the pedestal so it doesn't really matter what colour they are.

If you don't have a pedestal then the pipe is normally hidden in the wall so a P trap can be used as per Londonman's link.

I can't recall seeing an exposed/chrome version of the vertical type.
