Hi all, have just moved into a new house (5 years old), the old lady which we bought it from had never used the veritas alarm system, and has no idea what the code would be!!! It is all lit up and appears working. But how do i either find out the code that is registered or reset the whole system?? My only idea was to climb up to the bell box (fingers in ears) remove cover and disconnect speaker. Then remove main panel cover disconnect battery and mains for 24 hrs ?!!??

That wouldn't work with my system (different make) as the settings are held in non-volatile memory and survive a long power cut.

Note it says this will only work if the engineers/installer code hasn't been changed.

If you get hold of an eng manual it will tell you how to reset the alarm to defaults, assuming the installer did not lock the code, which is very rare.

I don't think it really appropriate to give out the info on how to do this online TBH, but I am sure you could easily source an eng manual ;-)

You will have to re-program the system once defaulted, so would need a little knowledge of how systems are programmed, most of that infor would be in the eng manual too.

It is a Veritas 8, I will have a go with it tomorrow I take it if the code is locked i can only replace the panel then. :-/

Yea.

I doubt it is locked - VERY rare to see them locked.

A new panel is only around the 40 mark though...
