Title: Can you install a fan flue fire without the fan? Post by Marcpt23 on Nov 2nd, 2010, 10:14pm Can you install a 'fan flue' gas fire in a normal chimney- i.e just disregard the fan flue? The fire I have has an external fan to be fitted on an external wall but I have a normal chimney so can I just fit the fire into the hearth and chimney without the fan flue attached? |

Could well be deadly... http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/article1056758.ece (May need to cut and paste that link) Anyway the fire would/should detect the missing fan as a fault and refuse to work for safety reasons. |
