Title: expansion vessel Post by karen 40 on Dec 28th, 2010, 1:46pm Hi guys, YES I know your sick of 'my boilers lossing presure'. Well I know it my expansion vessel as you guys diaganosed it 2 years ago!!! Due to lack of funds and as it was still working (sort of) I've done the girly thing and ignored it hoping it will go away or fix itself. Well now it's time, it loses water faster than i can top it up. It was recommended that i get a REMOTE vessel fitted???(as my boiler is so old) just would like a heads up what to expect? how much? and also who to go to. Independent plumber or Homeserve. Any help would be much appreciated Thank you Karen ;D |

Title: Re: expansion vessel Post by thescruff on Dec 28th, 2010, 8:15pm A remote vessel cut into the boiler return would be the best and cheapest road to go down. Cost who knows £150 tops, but not until well into the new year, as heating guys are charging silly money. Keep topping the pressure will wreck the boiler with sludge and corrosion, a newer boiler would be dead by now. |

Title: Re: expansion vessel Post by karen 40 on Dec 29th, 2010, 9:08pm Thanks for the reply. As the boiler is holding out at the mo (by the skin of it's teeth) i'll wait and get it done in the new year. Hopefully the weather will stay mild and the heating guys will be begging for work!!!! Thanx again and have a fab new year Karen [smiley=crossfingers.gif] |
