Title: Scalemaster Speedfit leaking
Post by Ritchie on Apr 6th, 2011, 9:31am

Hi,

I woke up this morning to water on the lounge carpet - on inspection I can see that there was water leaking out of the side of the Scalemaster Speedfit that is on the cold feed pipe.

To be honest I'd like to try and replace it as we've just moved house and I'm pretty skint at the moment. I can find them online for around £30 but I can't find any details on how to remove the unit.

Can anyone provide any advice on how to get the old part off? Will it require soldering of pipes? If it's a plumber only job, what sort of price should I expect to pay for replacement?

Many thanks in advance for your help.
Ritchie.

I am no plumber - perhaps a couple pics would help?

A pic would be a good idea, so we can see what the fitting is, show the end,
