Title: New radiator
Post by wozzy on May 28th, 2011, 2:50pm

Hello,

I currently have a 600x900 single panel single convector radiator in a bedroom, the room doesnt get warm enough when its cold, would changing this to a 600x900 double panel double convector make much difference or would i need to get a physically bigger rad?

cheers

Scroll down..

http://www.simplifydiy.com/plumbing-and-heating/radiators/power

600 x 900 single is approx 735W
600 x 900 single with fins is approx 1080W
600 x 900 double is approx 1050W
600 x 900 double with fins is approx 1650W
600 x 900 double with double fins is approx 2010W

but lot depnds on rad temperature and room heat loss.

Is there another room thats similar (eg similar size, similar outside wall area, similar windows) that does get warm enough?  What power of rad does that have in it according to the chart?

You can work out the BTU needed by measuring the room.

ok Im going to give a double double a go a bit more heat will be sufficent.

Ive got prices around the £55 mark, as radiators pretty much all the same quality / output wise?

Is this a job I can do myself? will i require anything i dont already have?

cheers  :)

Stelrad seems the defacto around these parts in terms of top end.
