Title: Connection to sewer
Post by argus1946 on Oct 16th, 2011, 8:11pm

Hi all
I am new to this forum I have been a DIYer for 40yrs and have learnt to always ask the experts before starting a project, here's my question -
I want to install a 1st floor shower room with basin and wc . My problem is the connection to the sewer.
Both rain water and waste water from the house go into the same system there are no soak aways. Outside the room runs a rainwater drainpipe which joins at the surface into 110 mm soil pipe.
Can I remove the rain water pipe and insert a 110 mm soil stack and use this for the shower basin and wc?
Can I then connect the rainwater pipe to this stack?

not very likely. You'll need to run it past the building inspector.
