im planning on fitting 2 pir security lights to a single sized garage

i was going to fit one in the centre of the garage above the door to catch you when you come into the drive and the other just on the start of the long side to shine down the path to the house

question is
if i walk up the drive to the garage -if the garage door light triggers will that stop the one on the corner from working if the light affects the sensor working ?

The light wont effect the IR detection from working.

The light could cause the other to think it was daylight and hence stop triggering, but this is delayed by many minutes.

If it was a problem you could probably set it up so that either PIR turns on both lights at once.

fit a decent one like time guard or friedland others just seem to break every five seconds.

ive fitted security lights before with a sw out connection,i will need to try get those type

The timegaurd 500w pir ones indeed have the SW out you mention.

I hate when the customer supplies the lights as they never have the sw wire connection.

I always like to wire with a 3 position switch ON - OFF - AUTO

It's not so much "a switch out" as a "lamp in" you need ;D
