Hello,

I have installed a small pump (power shower) on my hot water pipe coming out of the boiler with what I can guess is a pressure sensor to detect that the tap has been open in hot.

On the shower I have a normal mixing tap, but I think that there is some mismatch in pressures since I can only get only cold water or only hot water. It feels like there is only one particular spot on both taps that will put out an acceptable (not freezing cold or steaming hot) temperature.

How can I fix this? Will installing a new modern tap with temperature control fix this? Is there something wrong with the setup of the pump pressures? Something wront with the pressure switch? Who should I contact regarding this? Will a normal plumber be able to fix this? I'm quite skeptical in contacting the company that installed this since they clearly don't know what they did there.

EDIT:

I just realized it's not power shower, but more of a booster pump to get more pressure.

This is a combi boiler? If so you aren't allowed to pump the mains directly like that.

A combi boiler regulates the flow of water to control the output temperature. Adding a pump will probably mess with that. Might make the flow rate too high for the combi to heat the water. This may give strange effects such as the water getting colder when the hot tap is fully opened.

I'd get someone in who knows what they are doing. Have them look at the original problem. Fitting a pump may not be the best solution if the boiler is too small.
