Title: a bargain at 20p Post by oz bob on Apr 15th, 2004, 11:27pm hi all i went into b&q again today to see how much spirit levels were and swiped a saw protector form a cheapo saw, took it to the bargain boxes through it inside then asked a bloke who worked there how much it was? lol 20p i am sure it`ll come in handy sometime |
Title: Re: a bargain at 20p Post by Dewy on Apr 21st, 2004, 6:19pm I got a good deal from the B&Q bargain bins once. I found their sets of 15 router cutters which had the cheap plastic box cover broken & they all had one bit missing. No prices were shown so I asked the manager. He set them at half price & found a loose bit in the bin that made up the full set. 50p each for cutters can't be bad. They're useful for seldom used cutter to be kept in the workshop. |

Screwfix are charging over £12.00 each. And they work great!!! That`s what I call a real handy bargain,NEVER too many clamps. |

Title: Re: a bargain at 20p Post by koolwabbit on May 10th, 2004, 7:11pm http://www.silverlinetools.com/shop/ I live here in Lowestoft, Suffolk and got mine from WESTGATE FASTENINGS. |
Title: Re: a bargain at 20p Post by Dewy on May 10th, 2004, 7:49pm Those quick grip clamps from silverline are far cheaper than I have seen elsewhere. What I consider a good bargain are the guideclamps. They are between £11.03 & £16.71 depending on size & similar guide clamps start at £29.95 +vat elsewhere. I'll definitely be ordering one of those. |

I've got a couple of 50in copies of those clamps, bought from Axminster. The silverline ones are definitely a lot cheaper than I've seen elsewhere. I'll get a couple of 36in jobbies I think. Incidentally, there are some real dorks on ebay who regularly pay £30 or more for 50in clamps! Good business to be in! Andrew |
