Title: More laminate floor questions!
Post by TheMice on Jun 24th, 2004, 11:34pm

I know this is an often discussed subject but does anyone know of a laminate flooring that comes in random board lengths the same as solid wood flooring as i need the hard scratch resistant surface but the overall look of real wood.  The laminate i have seen has the pattern of random lengths but as the boards are all the same size the joins are obvious.
Any Ideas?

Chop a bit off the starting board in each row so that the joins are where you want them.  You'll waste a little though, but that is the price of your desired effect.

Remember that after adding furniture, rugs & the like, these joins (& board lengths) will be less noticeable.

Cheers,
Thats a damn good idea,  do you know if you can get laminate floor in narrower widths than the usual 3 strip effect.

A lot of places now do laminate patterns that are wide boards instead of 3 strip
