Title: noisy pipes Post by yozman on Nov 12th, 2004, 4:08pm i have recently had a new boiler installed and this works fine.problem is the noise from the pipes upstairs when the heating is on we used to get a little noise at first with the old boiler but this is now constant with new boiler .the noise is i have been told is due to the pipes under the floor expanding (sounds like a clicking)which i can understand but why has it got worse due to new boiler and is there anyway to stop it without dragging boards up >:( |
Title: Re: noisy pipes Post by thescruff on Nov 12th, 2004, 5:40pm It the notches are too tight then the floor boards have to come up to ease them, slip a plastic strip around the pipe too avoid contact with the woold. Get a screwdriver and stick the blunt end in your ear, then try and locate the noise. A coomon problem is where the pipes exit the floor and the holes are too tight, and where the pipes go through the plasterboard and has been made good. scruff |
